Baked Potatoes

  • 2 hours in slow cooker. Don't peel.

Mashed Potatoes

  • Dice potatoes, add water covering the potatoes, medium heat for 30 mins.
  • Rest to let water evaporate
  • Add salt, black pepper, cream cheese / greek yogurt, honey, butter - then mash

Potatoes Soup

  • Start with mashed potatoes, and dilude with cream or broth

Rice

  • Rinse with water a few times. Put rice in pot, add 2.5 cups of water. For Japanese rice, add 300 ml of water.
  • high heat until boiling, then low heat for 13 minutes. Pour out the excess water, let it sit in the pot
  • For rice cooked in stock, check the pot periodically to make sure it's not too dry

Bone Broth Soup

  • Bring 3-4 cups of water to a boil
  • add ribs, {meat}, {carrots}, potatoes, onions
  • simmer for one hour
  • add greens and a few beaten eggs
  • continue simmer for 10 minutes

optionally served with pasta, rice, glass noodles. season with oyster sauce, soy sauce, salt and pepper

Soft Cookies

  • 150g flour mix, 1 egg, add oil or butter so the batter isn't too thick. Microwave for 3 minutes.

Goulash

  • Melt butter / add oil and add onions
  • Add meat
  • Add garlic, tomatoes
  • Add salt, pepper, paprika
  • Add broth, carrots, potatoes, bring to a boil and simmer for 40 minutes

Pilaf

  • Add oil and cook onions
  • Add carrots, mushrooms
  • Add meat
  • Add salt, pepper, paprika, tumeric
  • Add rice and glaze it with fat
  • Add broth/water, bring to a boil and simmer

Fried Rice

Using a pot because I'm too lazy to clean a pan

  • Add oil and cook onions
  • Add carrots, mushrooms
  • Add meat
  • Add salt, pepper, soy sauce, oyster sauce
  • Add water and rice, bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes
  • (optional) add eggs

Japanese Butter Rice

  • Rice + butter/olive oil + soy sauce
  • (optional) add tofu

Rice Pudding

  • Cook rice in milk. Add tiny amount of salt and a lot of sugar to taste. Can spice it up with tumeric.
